Drawing Session (with Len Heiner) | 8 November 2025, from 14:00

Join us for this drawing session with artist Len Heiner, who transforms the exhibition space into a living canvas. Using the walls—and potentially every surface—as his playground, the artist invites visitors to step into a process of ongoing creation. Through spontaneous gestures, marks, and participatory acts, Len guides participants to explore, interact, and extend the playful interventions he sets in motion.

His work blurs the boundaries between artist and audience, composition and improvisation, inviting moments of shared reflection and collective creativity. Together, we’ll experiment, respond, and make the space our own!

Date: Saturday, 8 November 2025
Time: From 14:00
Address: TROEF, Middelstegracht 87, 2312 TT Leiden

Pillow Tales (with Nicola Caporaso, Linda Del Rosso, and Almira Tanrikulu) | 14 November 2025, 20:00

Come join us on November 14th at TROEF for a collective storytelling performance hosted by Nicola Caporaso, Linda Del Rosso, and Almira Tanrikulu.

Bring your own pillow and settle in — you can come to tell a story or simply lie back and listen, as we drift together through tales that travel between dreams and daylight.

In the gentle glow of Post-Ludens, we’ll build a blanket-fort of imagination — a small act of resistance against the rigidity of adulthood. Together, we’ll rediscover how easy it is to wander with our minds, to laugh, to make up worlds out of words, and to remember why play keeps us alive.

Date: Friday, 14 November 2025
Time: 20:00 - 22:00
Address: TROEF, Middelstegracht 87, 2312 TT Leiden

Flying Kites (with Frans van Hoek) | 16 November 2025, 16:00

Join us for Flying Kites, a participatory session by artist Frans van Hoek that turns the act of kite flying into a poetic gesture of letting go and connection.

Together, we’ll explore our fears and anxieties tied to work, ambition, and the uncertain paths of adulthood — writing them down, giving them form, and letting them drift into the sky. Each kite becomes a messenger of what we carry within us: worries, hopes, memories, and quiet wishes that connect us through shared experience.

Through this simple yet symbolic act, Flying Kites invites reflection on what it means to acknowledge what weighs us down, to share it with others, and to transform it through play. As the kites rise, our words move with the wind, reminding us of the unpredictability of life and the lightness found in letting go together.

Time: 16:00–18:00

Muddle (A Collaborative Board Game by Fabio Meinardi) | 23 November 2025, 14:00 & 15:30

Muddle is a collaborative board game that merges photography, collective storytelling, and speculative play to imagine new multispecies narratives in the context of the Mediterranean climate crisis.

At its core lies Posidonia oceanica — a seagrass endemic to the Mediterranean Sea and a vital yet endangered bioindicator of ecological health.

Through a system of character roles, event prompts, and photographic cards, players are invited to construct collective stories while navigating the game’s map. Each image acts as an open-ended visual cue and meaning-making tool, activated through imagination and interaction between players, humans, and more-than-human entities.

Inspired by Donna Haraway, Muddle encourages participants to “stay with the trouble,” embracing uncertainty, interdependence, and nonlinear thinking. Rather than offering resolution or escape, the game values process, dialogue, and relational storytelling.

Emerging from artistic research on Posidonia oceanica and its presence around Isola Gallinara — a small island off the Italian coast — Muddle transforms play into a process of situated learning and storytelling. It invites participants to rethink ecological relations through acts of imagination, care, and co-authorship.

Vocal expression (with Wouter Mol) | 12 December 2025, 19:30

Vocal expression is a playful, body-oriented approach to working with sound and resonance through your voice. You don’t need to be able to sing beautifully: through your voice, you connect with what’s alive inside you, giving space to discomfort, emotions, desires, and your zest for life.

Vocal expression helps you to:
  • Connect with your body
  • Feel and express your emotions
  • Become more aware of your life energy and creativity

The session is guided by Wouter Mol, a vocal performer, songwriter, and music therapist with extensive experience supporting people dealing with chronic stress, attention difficulties, brain damage, and addiction.

Food break around the algae table
A shortened version of the performative food gathering “Rooted in Water / Rock / Time,” in which we gather, eat, and slow down together. The table transforms into a living archive, accumulating gestures, objects, and residues of the gathering. It functions as an inversion of the colonial collecting table: not a tool of classification, but a space for encounter, exchange, and co-creation. The menu combines familiar ingredients with foraged wild herbs.

🧤 15:30 – 17:30
Choreographing hand(s) with Wietske Flederus
